No matter our trials, God is always faithful and he always comes through.
Unlike others, we can trust God wholeheartedly because he will never fail us. His response may be different than we expect, but it is always better.
“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”Psalm 18:2
When David wrote Psalm 18 he had just made it through one of the hardest seasons of his life. He had spent years being hunted by his enemies and King Saul. His life was far from easy, yet he remained a faithful servant of God. It was in God that he sought refuge, and God was faithful to protect him and keep his feet on solid ground. Then when David called out for help, God was angry on David’s behalf and squashed his enemies.
I love the ending of this Psalm because it shows that God is for us. Not only does God rescue David and squash his enemies, but he also makes David king!
“Great salvation he brings to his king,
and shows steadfast love to his anointed,
to David and his offspring forever.”Psalm 18:50
God wants to see us prosper and live out the calling he gave us before we were born. He doesn’t just give us what we ask for or deserve. He gives us what we need to continue to follow him and bring about his good plans.
If you find yourself in a difficult season remember that God will never fail you.
He is your refuge.
He is your comfort.
He is your protector.
He is your rock.
He is for you!
He also doesn’t settle for mediocre. He has big plans for you. You were made for great things. 🥰
